Fury - 2

The Fury offers two suspension options:

Live Axle and Independant Rear Suspension (IRS).

In both cases the front suspension uses Ford McPherson struts cut down to form steering uprights. The tops of these are linked to rocker arms whose inner ends connect to Spax coils over shock absorbers to provide inboard damping.

The Live Axle version uses the Ford Escort rear axle located using two trailing links in conjunction with a Panhard rod. Spax coil over shock absorbers are used to give good ride comfort combined with excellent handling and grip.

The IRS version uses the Ford Sierra rear hub assembly in conjunction with purpose built hub carriers forming the uprights between upper and lower wishbones. Once again, Spax coil over shock absorbers ensure a refined ride quality and excellent traction for more powerful engines.

In addition to the standard chassis, there is an option to use a Lightened Chassis manufactured with a lighter gauge steel and aluminum panels in place of the steel items to reduce the weight of the car by approx 10kg. This is an ideal chassis for performance-hungry track day or race cars.

A further option is the Lowered Chassis. The superb handling of the Fury is well renowned but for track and race applications, this chassis option enables the car to maintain an even lower centre of gravity for optimised competitive performance. However, for everyday road use this option is not recommended as it can cause problems with ground clearance where speed bumps are present.
