Welcome to the Fisher Sports Cars UK news page. |

Following a serious illness, it was with great regret that Martin Bell was obliged to sell the Fisher Sports Cars business. The sale was finalised on 31st March 2007 and the new owners of the business are:
BGH Geartech Ltd
Unit 8, Verralls Business Centre
Maidstone Road
Cranbrook, Kent
TN17 2AF
Tel/Fax: 01580 714114
Contacts: Chris Laing & Brian Hill
BGH Geartech also own Cranbrook Kit Cars, based at the same address as above, and employ Steve Hughes, who as many will know, has worked for Fisher Sports Cars for most of the last 15 years and probably knows more about the car than just about anyone else in the industry. BGH Geartech are extremely well known in the Kit Car industry for their uprated and special gearboxes and already have a long standing association with Fisher Sports Cars.
Martin Bell commented, "I could not have wished for the business to go to a more capable or enthusiastic company". Please note the The Kit Car Workshop premises in Rushden have also now been sold to a general car repair business which is not involved in any way with the kit car industry.

Although our customers keep telling us the Fury is one of the best handling and performance based cars they have ever driven, we just can’t help wanting to go that bit further. Continued investment in R&D has resulted in our manufacturing base upgrading both its facilities and techniques to produce even higher levels of quality to both chassis and suspension components.
Some of the improvements to the new 2006 specification chassis are as follows:
The introduction of variable caster adjustment to enhance straight line stability and simplify SVA compliance.
Extra gusseting has been applied to strategic areas of the chassis to improve rigidity and further enhance the driving dynamics. Also by accommodating the latest designs and thinking in the area of suspension technology, our customers will have wider options of spring rates to optimise both road and track use.
Additional stiffening and relocation of the differential mounts to facilitate a more straight forward installation.
All suspension components are now plated before powder coating to extend long term durability.
All chassis will now incorporate, as standard, mounting points for both 4- and 6-point harnesses at no extra cost. The location has been redesigned to make installation easier and optimise safety.

3 Jul 2005 The first Open Day for the new look Fisher Sports Cars UK took place at the Rushden Head Office. The weather was kind and, combined with the lure of bacon butties, attracted a good turnout. There was a wide variety of Furys on view as well a few other sports cars. To look at a selection of pictures from the event go to our Build site's picture library and choose Open Day 2005 from the Option D searches. |

26 Jun 2005 After suffering a life changing accident on his motorcycle, Dave Masters has had to learn to drive almost one handed. Although he still has a left arm, the movement is very limited and his hand almost has no grip at all. You can imagine our surprise, when Dave rang us to enquire about our Demo Track day. |
|
We would be fibbing if we said we weren’t a little apprehensive but equally intrigued when Dave told us that he was looking at a Fury as he wanted something a little lighter to hustle around the track than his Ram Cobra. As Dave explained his situation to us we were frankly amazed at how he even managed to change gear although he admitted it was hard work. After a bit of a chat we asked if had ever driven a bike engine car with a sequential box, which led to Dave driving our works driver around Bruntingthorpe with one hand.
Gordon Milner commented "It was a little unnerving at first being driven on the twisty bits one handed, but to be fair I was quickly more interested in ensuring that Dave was moving up and down the box in the right direction as this can confuse a first time bike engine driver. I needn’t have worried on either count, because after a few laps Dave was quite comfortably ON IT and it was a testament to his tenacity that when he decides to do something he does it in style".
It seems that Dave was quite impressed too because he bought the car. "I loved the buzz of the engine, the speed that the car carries through the corners and the incredible brakes, I’m going to have some very jealous mates".

10 Jun 2005 Why not come along and watch our cars on the track at Brands Hatch circuit in Kent on Sunday 19th June? This 750MC club meeting is always a popular event and generally attracts a good number of owners who drive their road going Furys to the circuit to watch the racing. Entry to the circuit for the day's seven races costs just £10.00 in advance (£12.00 on the day) and includes access to the paddock. |
You can chat with all the drivers and meet the Fisher Sports Cars UK team. Martin Bell, Mark Fisher, Ian Tayor and Adam Bell will be in attendance, whilst Gordon Milner and Chris Seaman will be racing the works cars.

9 Jun 2005 Dustin Barnes stunned the pundits at Donington Park in the RGB Class C category when he beat the current RGB champion Tim Grey in a straight fight. Whilst his fellow competitors have always known that Dustin is a talented racer, the win was even more special as it was achieved in a five year old, live axle, Fury Classic. |
|
Dustin told us, "To beat Tim on equal terms is a real accomplishment, I have to believe that I am as good as him or I wouldn't be here and I think that today has shown yet again that the Fury is a true winner". We congratulate Dustin on his excellent victory and wish him the very best for a great season. And whilst we saluate the very excellent skills and experience of Tim Grey, we look forward to our newer drivers showing just how good the latest Fury designs really are as their experience grows.

25 May 2005 The open day at Marden originally scheduled for 18th June 2005 has been replaced by a bigger event to be staged at our Rushden Head Office on 3rd July. After the successful merger of the Kit Car Workshop & Fisher Sports Cars to form Fisher Sports Cars UK, the partners Mark Fisher and Martin Bell would like to invite owners and interested parties to join us for a summer get together at our new Head Office in Rushden, Northants. |
Last year we had over fifty visitors who shared bacon butties with us in the morning and had a chance to be driven out in some of the most exciting Fisher Furys to date. Come and show us your pride and joy or have a chance to catch up with the latest developments and build ideas! Make a note in your diary to join us between 10am and 4pm. Refreshments wil be available! For further information please feel free to call us on 0870 1655224 or contact us using the Enquiry Form page. Click here for a map showing where we are.
On Saturday 21st May over 30 drivers and guests had an exciting chance to sample Bruntingthorpe's fastest circuit with the Sylva Sportscar Register. Although the day started off a little wet this did little to dampen the enthusiasm of the drivers or visitors. Andy Grant (R1 Fury Le Mans) told us that seeing 130 mph on a damp circuit did little to keep his underpants dry particularly as he experienced a bit of a slide under braking - what did he manage in the afternoon Sun we wonder! |

Visitors were treated to a superb selection of stunning sports cars powered by K-Series, Zetec, Yamaha R1 and Hayabusa engines. The opportunity to take a ride out on the track gave potential owners the chance to finally decide on their favourite power plant. If you would like to join us on one of these track demo days please check our diary dates and contact us through the Enquiry Form or by telephone on 0870 1655224.
Fisher Sports Cars are pleased to announce that Martin Bell of The Kit Car Workshop, has become an equal partner in what will now be known as Fisher Sports Cars UK. Mark Fisher will be heading up the R&D section, concentrating on the rolling development of the Fury range in Kent, while Martin will be expanding the marketing and promotional side from our Midlands base. This marks yet another positive step forward in the history of Fisher Sports Cars as we continue to strengthen our position in the market following a very successful 2004.
